Its jerine n liam's 1st time at san fran.. i had been here in 2006, but honestly it was a rather short period of stay n i couldnt recall much anyway. So kinda looking forward to this mini trip , especially since we would b driving up north
Some key notes of interest:
1) 2.5 hours to n ard same time required to drive back - not too bad tat can tahan throughout!
2) visited golden gate bridge, chinatown, union square
Golden gate bridge - had the "unfortunate" experience of hitting the wrong turn n having to drive across the bridge to sausalito ..
Wah biang !!!
Dunno whether to blame the gps or my indecisive driving skills ..haha
Anyway did learn someting abt driving in the USA n to minimise turning into wrong lanes
Chinatown - ate late lunch ( due to time wasted on driving ard ) at a place akin to 茶 餐 厅 but frequented by predominantly senior folks.
Prior to this, bought pastries at this "mongkok" bakery, tat was recommended by yelp.com
After lunch , we walked ard n bought some provisions frm a chinese grocery shop
Union square - we shopped at H&M n bought some cheap steals.
Also took a quick look at a nearby goodwill store...but tat was disappointing . Only a measly showcase of ps2 n xbox games.
Jerine also bought desserts frm the renowned cheesecake shop at macy's
3) left at 6pm .. reached chopstix at 840 pm for takeaway ..
Long drive man
To sum it up , it was a fulfilling trip , though rather short.
Aim to cover more the next round!
