Bangkok day 4 (30 nov)- chinatown

Today, kinda abandoned jerine n made my own way to chinatown .. key purpose was to visit sampeng lane n mega plaza , in search of lovegameshop

Took a cab to sampeng .. after walking a while realised almost all the shops were offering the same wares , then made my way to mega plaza

After walking ard, spotted mega plaza ! As i was early , only a few shops were opening up . But it was encouraging as could see tat mega plaza had tonnes of games n toys related shop

Walked ard n ard , waiting for lovegameshop to open . Bought 2 megadrive cib games for 300 baht, rummaged through an outside stall n got a usb joystick plus assortment of nintendo chargers for 200 baht .. bought 2 chiong transformer toys for liam for 370 baht

Kept soaking in the sights while awaiting lovegameshop to open ... till 1 pm stil remained closed .. decided to return to hotel lest jerine was hungry

Picked jerine up n we went to siam center to eat at the reputed som tam restaurant .. 450 baht for rice, spicy salad, fried fish , chicken n coffee .. food was real tasty n tot it was value for money. 

Next walked siam square area..rather aimlessly . Bought some pineapple tarts frm deliya bakery which turned out to b quite crappy ... after a while returned to hotel .

After a rest, went to nearby tesco to shop for snacks ... dinner was at kfc (again!) .. but tis time tried the rice with chicken combo which tasted quite ok ...

After dinner retired at hotel ...

Bangkok day 3 - walking ard platinum mall, siam paragon, central world, mbk

Today set off a bit later as both of us were tired .. i had my breakfast at the hotel , almost the same menu as yesterday..

We first went to siam paragon (i tink) .. where we had "lunch" at afteryou cafe .. ordered 2x toasted loaves + iced latte .. almost felt nauseous as food was too sweet so kinda wasted a bit of money  . N it was quite pricey too at 500+baht

After lunch, we made our way to platinum mall .. walked walked ard, jerine bought couple of clothing. Then we went to pantip plaza , supposedly an IT mall , but there was nothing very fantastic.
I then made my own way to baiyoke sky, but the place was almost closed .. sunday perhaps

Jerine n i then had tea at a roadside food truck .. spicy noodles n salad  . Alrite foodfare ah

Made our way to palladium plaza but the place was almost closed  .kinda crappy .. we then made our way to mbk

At mbk i played tekken 7 (new) at the arcade n visited o conner . More on tat separately ..

Dinner was at kfc mbk .. then made our way back to hotel

Bangkok trip day 2 (28 nov)

Today we first went to chatuchak market .. as it was a saturday, tonnes of ppl n traffic ard. We tried to flag a cab n tuktuk but to no avail .. in the end took the train

Standard , chatuchak was hot with loads of ppl , but at least not searing hot like san jose flea market ... lotsa ppl.. we did the usual shopping for bags, food, clothes .
Had coconut icecream twice , n lunch was phad thai n soup noodles at an eatery

After chatuchak,  returned to hotel for short rest before going to tarad rod fai, aka train market . This was kinda challenging as never been there before, so travel was kinda based on chance. In the end took train n taxi .

Rod fai seemed kinda like a hippie holland v style kinda place ..with lotsa pubs n eateries .. after passing thru these, entered into the night market zone .
Standard market fare - lotsa street food, stores retailing clothes n stuff ..

Highlight was i stumbled upon a toy shop offering boxed megadrives .. more on tat separately .
Food wise was also an  experience - we had fried squid for 50 baht, big cup iced coffee for ard 30, n duck noodles at 50 per bowl ..
Upon exiting the area, we bought 2x nice arty looking clocks for ard 750baht

Very tired..went back to hotel in a cab ..
